Working People

So the job hunt is over and we are both working full time. Joey got a job working in sales for M. Lee Smith Publishing Company. It's a very good job that has a good base salary and comes with commission on all his sales, so far he is doing great. I was trying to get my old job back at Lexus working as a valet when lady luck knocked on my door and offered me something better. I had also applied to be a valet at Mercedes Benz incase Lexus fell through. Mercedes called me back and said they didn't have a valet position open but they wanted to interview me for an office job. Of course I said yes, to say no would be stupid. So, after lots of paperwork, interviews and having to pee in a cup I was hired by Mercedes Benz to work in Warranty and Cash Office, and on some occasions help with the appointments. I will say that it is a lot to learn and a bit frustrating but I am getting the hang of it and I really love it. The pay is great and the people are so nice. Of course this is only a stepping stone in my life while I go back to school. I only have to take 7 more classes before I will have an AS degree. Then I would like to go to the art school here in Nashville and learn illustration. I have already written and illustrated one book and I am just waiting to work on getting it published. Life is going very well for us right now.

Our First Real Home

So we are all move in and it feels great. No more boxes lying around and nearly killing yourself by tripping over them in the middle of the night just to go to the bathroom. Joey and I have gone through many changes as a young married couple, just the other day we were talking about wall art, health insurance, savings for the future and other things like that. We both laughed at eachother when the full blow of adulthood smacked us in the face. It took me a few minutes to get back up. So, we love our new home, we are both just so happy to be back in Nashville and we are looking forward to all the things to come. Don't worry I will put up some pics of the new apartment soon!

Back in the South Again

So, Joey Strawn is officially a graduate of Boston University, with a Masters in Public Relations. Finally it was time to pack up and go back to land of sweet tea and manners.

On December 23rd, we packed up what was left of our overpriced apartment, loaded it into the UHaul, and headed out of Boston. Living in Boston was no picnic, walking everywhere, no personal space, no elevators, everything closes at 6:00, and for the first time in my life I shoveled snow. Anyway we got into the truck and attempted to drive out of the city. One problem, navigation systems don't know which roads are cars only, this is very very frustrating and if you have ever been to Boston, you know that driving those streets in a UHaul truck is stressful enough without a small navigation system leading you into 10 dead ends before you finally find one road that will lead you out of the city. Note: Jersey SUCKS, just believe us.
Well, 36 hours later and after stopping in Nashville to drop off everything in the back we headed on to Memphis. We made it to Joey's parents on Christmas Eve and this is where we are currently, staying with Joey's parents. Our apartment in Nashville opens on the 12th and we are just so excited we could just burst. We have moved from place to place our entire relationship and each place has been very small, no breathing room. This apartment in Nashville will be our first real home.
